In today’s Western civilization, God has turned into a symbol and is symbolically worshiped. In practice, there are no such things as divine teachings, religious practice, or sharia law. The White House prayer ceremony that took place after the coronavirus outbreak can be mentioned as an example. It is a fact that the U.S officials and presidents pretend to be religious, but their actions do not represent that belief. You can see that by invading Iraq and Afghanistan, they massacred thousands, and even millions of people. Can those people be considered believers?
We Muslims see Jesus Christ as a symbol of kindness, but are the U.S presidents a symbol of kindness or a symbol of war? For years now, Iran has been subject to the U.S sanction of medicine which contributes to the death of many Iranians. Yet the U.S sanctions continue to prevent Iran from accessing medical supplies. Sending simple medical supplies from Europe to Iran is not possible either. Can Western officials or its leaders be considered believers? Does believing in Jesus Christ (PBUH) only manifest itself in performing a prayer ceremony, or shouldn’t one’s actions be similar to that of Christ (PBUH)?
Now compare that action with Iranian officials’ actions as the representatives of Islamic civilization. Since the invasion of Iran by Saddam Hussein and during the Iran-Iraq War, residential areas of Iranian cities have been bombed in many cases and missiles hit the civilians. Many innocent Iranians were martyred. However, when the Iranian military officials consulted with Imam Khomeini (r.a.) to bomb some Iraqi cities in retaliation of Saddam’s attacks, he disagreed and said civilians might be killed. The military officials even suggested that they would inform the civilians before bombing the city so that it would be evacuated, but he still did not consent, saying that an elderly person would not be able to leave the city. Therefore, the bombing of Iraqi cities did not even happen once. This kind of action was seen among Iranian soldiers as well. In Iraq, an Iranian pilot refused to bombard a bridge while an old man was crossing it and put himself in danger of getting hit by a missile by waiting for the old man to cross it.
Islamic civilization is the civilization of kindness, but television networks seek to ruin Iran’s image in the world by bombarding the media to frame this country as a terrorist state and an axis of evil. Western civilization leaders aim to tarnish Iran’s image by establishing extremist Islamic groups such as ISIS (which cannot be called Muslim at all and what they do is far away from Islamic culture). Which is why in a letter to the youth in Europe, Iranian leader, Imam Khamenei, implored them to distinguish Islam from its original sources such as the Quran and Hadiths rather than have it introduced to them by the Western media. The confession that the U.S created and supported ISIS was noticeable during their presidential debates.
Another significant point is that today Iran is the flagship of Islamic civilization (the divine civilization), and the U.S is the flagship of Western civilization (human civilization). Therefore, the question is, “which civilization will men choose to continue their path on?” In a recent speech, Imam Khamenei stated that we are at a historic turning point, after which Henry Kissinger mentioned in a speech that the world has reached a historic turning point and [Imam] Khomeini and [Imam] Khamenei have already established its signs.
